GLOBAL FAMILY BUSINESS SURVEY

The STEP Project Global Consortium (SPGC) is happy to announce the launch of the 2026 SPGC Global Family Business Survey!
At SPGC, we are committed to advancing global knowledge on family businesses through collaborative research that informs practice, policy, and education. Every two years, SPGC conducts the Global Family Business Survey, bringing together the perspectives of family businesses from around the world to better understand the opportunities and challenges shaping their future.

Building on previous editions, the 2026 SPGC Global Family Business Survey explores how family businesses navigate risk and uncertainty, embrace artificial intelligence and digital transformation, foster transgenerational entrepreneurship, and achieve long-term business and innovation performance.

By participating, you will not only contribute to one of the world's leading family business research initiatives but also receive immediate automated feedback upon completing the survey, providing valuable insights into your organization.
The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and will remain open until November 15, 2026.

WHAT IS THIS SURVEY ABOUT?

The 2026 SPGC Global Family Business Survey is a global research initiative conducted by the SPGC to better understand how family businesses are navigating an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving business environment.

This global study explores how family businesses:
•    Navigate risk and uncertainty through effective governance and risk management practices.
•    Embrace artificial intelligence and digital transformation to enhance decision-making, innovation, and long-term competitiveness.
•    Foster transgenerational entrepreneurship by sustaining entrepreneurial spirit and creating value across generations.
•    Achieve long-term business success through innovation, strategic renewal, and sustainable business performance.

By bringing together perspectives from family businesses around the world, the survey aims to generate actionable insights that will advance research and support family business leaders in navigating future opportunities and challenges.

WHY IS THIS SURVEY RELEVANT TODAY?

Family businesses play a vital role in shaping economies, communities, and future generations. Yet in an increasingly complex environment marked by geopolitical uncertainty, evolving stakeholder expectations, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence, sustaining long-term success requires continuous adaptation, innovation, and renewal.  Understanding how family businesses navigate these changes is essential to ensuring their long-term resilience, continuity, and success across generations.

WHY TAKE THIS SURVEY?

By participating in the 2026 SPGC Global Family Business Survey, you will:
•    Receive immediate automated feedback upon completing the survey, providing valuable insights into your organization's responses.
•    Contribute to global family business research that advances understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing family businesses worldwide.
•    Help shape the global family business report that will be launched at the 2027 SPGC Global Family Business Summit and shared with the international family business community.
•    Represent your voice and contribute to benchmarking how family businesses are navigating risk, embracing artificial intelligence, and driving long-term success across generations.

Your responses are strictly confidential. All data will be aggregated and analyzed only at the group level, ensuring that no individual, family, or business can be identified.
